This Big Mac Pizza recipe is quick and easy to make – and such a fun idea for any party, game day get-together, celebration or just because! Full of your favorite burger flavors but in a sheet pan pizza form.
OK, anyone remember the guy from the documentary “Super Size Me” who ate a Big Mac from McDonald’s every day? I wonder if he’s ever made a Big Mac Pizza, ha!
In any case, the golden M’s Big Macs are definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Like I said in my Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole: I live for the warm pickles on a burger, and Big Macs with extra pickles are the way to go, if you ask me.
I think the idea of a “Big Mac” Pizza came from a TikTok viral, right? Sorry, I’m too old for this, but since I love those flavors so much… I had to come up with my own recipe: Full of pickle relish and topped with even more pickles. It’s just the best!
Ingredients you’ll need
This is just an overview of the ingredients needed – scroll to the recipe card at the bottom for exact quantities and instructions.
Ingredient notes
- Pickle relish: If you’re not a fan of pickles (gasp, what!), just leave it out. If you want pickles but don’t have any relish on hand, I suggest using 1/3 cup of diced pickles instead.
- Pizza crust: I used the regular crust from a can (the 13.8-oz size) because I think it works better than a thin crust for this particular pizza. I’ve also seen people use round pizza crusts, but I would urge you to try this with the canned kind for best results.
- Seasoning salt: Use regular salt and some garlic powder and ground paprika if you don’t have seasoning/seasoned salt on hand.
- Ground beef: I buy a cheaper cut here and just drain off the fat after browning the beef. Feel free to go for lean ground beef if you prefer!
Step by step instructions
This recipe starts with the beef topping: Brown the beef and onion with some seasoning salt until crumbled and cooked through.
Then take it off the heat and stir through the pickle relish and Thousand Island dressing. That’s the topping done – so easy!
Press the pizza crust into a lined 10×15 inch pan, then spread the beef topping all over. Evenly sprinkle with the cheese – and your pizza is ready for the oven!
Make sure to pay attention and place the pizza in the lower half of your oven. That’s how you get a crispy bottom crust. The baking time may seem short, but I use a hot oven for a shorter baking time. Always wins with any kind of pizza!
I don’t know if you order your burger without lettuce, tomato and pickles. But I don’t, so I pile on the shredded lettuce, diced tomato and pickle coins. I mean, otherwise it’s just a ground beef pizza with salad dressing, isn’t it? 😉
Recipe tips
- Make sure to use the right size pan, to make sure the crust fits. You want a nice and thick crust, so don’t stretch it out too much.
- I strongly recommend baking the pizza in the lower half of your oven, to make sure the top doesn’t burn and the bottom baked through.
- Don’t add more salad dressing to the beef than the recipe calls for, otherwise you’ll end up with a soggy pizza.
- I know some recipes pre-bake the crust, but I’ve never found this to be necessary. I actually like how the topping sort of bakes a little into the crust, it’s my favorite part of a pizza. My pizza never comes out soggy and the bottom is always perfectly baked, so I think it’s perfectly fine without the extra step of pre-baking the crust.
Leftovers
If you have leftovers, please pick off any lettuce, pickles and tomatoes before you store the pizza in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
The lettuce and tomatoes will go bad and spoil the pizza if you leave them on. The pickles can make the pizza soggy after a while – so you really are better off picking off all the toppings if you need to store a few slices in the fridge!
